    The Karnataka State Bar Council has decided to sanction a sum of Rs. 10,000 to Advocates who are tested positive for COVID 19 and who are in home quarantine and a sum of Rs 25,000 to those Advocates who are infected by COVID 19 and are hospitalized.     The Karnataka State Bar Council has decided to sanction a sum of Rs. 10,000 to Advocates who are tested positive for COVID 19 and who are in home quarantine and a sum of Rs 25,000 to those Advocates who are infected by COVID 19 and are hospitalized.

    As per a press noted issued by the Bar council states that "In order to mitigate the sufferings of the infected Advocates, the Bar Council in its meeting held on 7th May, 2021 has unanimously resolved the amount."

    Further it is stated that Karnataka State Bar Council has held a series of meetings with the Chief Justice of Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka and succeeded in convincing the Hon'ble Chief Justice to direct the State Government for appointment / nominating Nodal Officers to each Taluk and District Headquarters exclusively to look after the Advocates and their family Members.

    Following which the Government of Karnataka has issued a notification by appointing the nodal officers at Taluka and District Level.

    The note also appeals to all the Advocates and their family members to maintain COVID 19 protocol by observing social distancing, wearing masks and sanitizing and also get vaccinated as early as possible. It assures all the Advocates and their family members that a maximum assistance will be rendered by the Karnataka State Bar Council during COVID 19 pandemic.
