The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the government to remove the discrepancy in the date and venue of the petitioner's vaccination details on the CoWin portal within two weeks.

Justice P V Kunhikrishnan accordingly closed the writ petition filed by a 73-year-old who was planning to travel abroad to meet his children but was refrained from doing so due to incorrect details on his vaccination certificate.

When the matter came up for hearing, the Government Pleader informed the Court that a corrected certificate has been sent to the petitioner, and the petitioner confirmed receipt of the same.

However, the counsel for the petitioners pointed out that the consequential corrections were not yet made in the Cowin portal. The Court then directed the respondents to do the needful and closed the petition recording that the corrected certificate has been received by the petitioner.

The petitioner was forced to approach the Court pursuant to continued inaction on the part of the said authorities to rectify the abovementioned errors.

The petitioner had received the first dose in March and the second in April, both from a vaccination centre in Aluva, and had never gone to Ernakulam for a jab.

However, when the vaccination certificate was released in July, the certificate displayed that the second dose was administered in July at a vaccination certificate in Ernakulam.
