    Former Chief Justice of the High Courts of Calcutta, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh, and Judge of the Kerala High Court, Justice Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan, passed away today. 

    He served as Judge of the Kerala High Court for 12 years, and had been the acting Chief Justice twice. 

    He breathed his last at a private hospital in Kochi. 

    Enrolled as a lawyer in the year 1983, Justice Radhakrishnan practised in three different branches of law, namely Civil, Constitutional and Administrative Laws. He was elevated as Judge of the Kerala High Court on October 14, 2004. 

    He was also the Executive Chairman of the Kerala Legal Services Authority, and the Patron-in-Chief of the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States Legal Services Authority.

    He was the Chancellor of five National Law Universities as well, namely, the National Academy for Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad; the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata; the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi; the Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur; and the Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU), Visakhapatnam. 

    Justice Radhakrishnan is notable for his interventions in the functioning of mental healthcare centres in the State, the issues faced by senior citizens, and Devasom matters.
