Under the initiative of the Kerala High Court, e-Filing, Video Conferencing, e-Office and e-Sewa Kendras will be inaugurated in all three court centres in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. The inaugural function is set to be held on February 10, 2024 (Saturday).

The inauguration will be done by Chief Justice A J Desai, in the presence of Justice A.Muhamed Mustaque (Chairman, Committee in charge of Computerisation), Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas, Justice Shoba Annamma Eapen and other dignitaries at Kavaratti, the capital of Lakshadweep.

The e-filing system would enable the lawyers to file cases online without going physically to the courts. The Video Conferencing facility would enable hybrid hearings which would help litigants and lawyers to appear in cases in an online mode also. E-office suite will make administrative work paperless and faster. And, e-Sewa Kendras will provide access to information on case status, judgments, orders, cause lists, court fees etc.

This is the first time that such facilities have been made available on the islands, which come under the administrative control of the Kerala High Court.
