A Mega Legal Services Camp was organised on February 28, 2026, by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) through the North-West District Legal Services Authority at MCD Boys School, Mangolpur Kalan. The event witnessed a footfall of over 800 beneficiaries.
A legal aid clinic was also inaugurated at the adjoining MCD Community Centre with the objective of providing access to justice at the doorsteps of local residents, many of whom are workers in the unorganised sector.
The Camp marked the culmination of a two-month-long project undertaken by the North-West District Legal Services Authority in the area. As part of the initiative, a trained task force of para-legal volunteers was constituted, and data regarding the legal services needs of residents was collected through direct door-to-door engagement.
The Camp was held under the leadership of Justice V. Kameswar Rao, Judge, High Court of Delhi and Executive Chairperson, DSLSA. He emphasised the vital role of legal services institutions in ensuring that access to justice and welfare entitlements meaningfully reach vulnerable sections of society.
Rajeev Bansal, Member Secretary, DSLSA, highlighted the Authority's continued commitment to strengthening grassroots outreach and ensuring effective delivery of legal aid and welfare entitlements.
Ms. Nisha Sahay Saxena, Principal District & Sessions Judge, North-West District, provided district-level leadership for the organisation of the Camp. Prem Kumar Barthwal, Principal District & Sessions Judge (North), also attended the event.
The services provided at the Camp included enrolment and updation of Aadhaar cards and labour cards; child welfare schemes such as the Ladli Scheme and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana; welfare schemes for women; and social security schemes for unorganised sector workers. Departments including Revenue, Labour, Education, the Construction Workers Welfare Board, and MCD participated in the event.
A medical camp and a mental health helpdesk were also organised for residents. Prior to the event, a Disability Assessment Camp had been conducted, and assistive disability kits were distributed to eligible beneficiaries during the programme.
Residents of Mangolpur Kalan and nearby areas who attended the event appreciated the initiative, describing it as a significant step towards ensuring access to rightful entitlements with dignity.
