    A total of 3,32,936 cases were settled at the Mega Lok Adalat held on March 27, it was organised by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), in the State.     A total of 3,32,936 cases were settled at the Mega Lok Adalat held on March 27, it was organised by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), in the State.

    The Lok Adalat was inaugurated by former Supreme Court Justice, N Santhosh Hegde. As per the press releases issued by the authority states that ​"In the Mega Lok Adalat 19,113 pre-litigation cases, 313,823 pending cases thus a total of 3,32,936 cases were settled. So, it was a record breaking/grand settlement, giving huge relief to litigant public.

    ​Highlights of Mega Lok-Adalat were:

    #963 benches sat on March 27 and a total of Rs. 1,033,53,65,965 crore was paid as compensation to the parties while Rs. 18,19,89,648 crore was recovered as fine and penalty.

    # Mysuru district: 29 couples who had filed divorce petition restitution of conjugal rights got their cases compromised before the Lok-Adalat and all of them have re-united. Amongst 29 couples, there was one aged couple where the husband was aged 67 years and wife was aged 55 years.

    A 24 years old execution case bearing number 473/97 was compromised for Rs. 5,00,000.

    #In Gadag district: One MVC death case (MVC No. 20/19) ended in compromise and Bajaj Insurance Company, Hubli paid compensation of Rs. 58,00,000.

    #In Bangalore Urban District:

    In Small Causes Court, Bengaluru a case filed by M/s Kirloskar System Pvt. Ltd. Vs. Embassy Property Developers Ltd., for the offence under Sec 138 NI Act in PCR No. 1904/21 compromised at the 21,10,05,035.

    #The Lok-Adalat dealt with cases regarding MACT, matters related to financial institutions, criminal compoundable cases including Negotiable Instrument Act cases, civil suits and family court matters (except divorce), physically or through video-conferencing.

    Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka, Justices Aravind Kumar and Justice Alok Aradhe noted the grand success of the Mega Lok Adalat and appreciated the efforts put in by various stakeholders.
