The Ministry of Finance has notified the details of all licensees, lessees, and contractors project-wise involved in petroleum operations.
"As a part of the budget exercise, items used in the petroleum operations which are eligible for exemption under S. No. 404 of notification No. 50/2017 dated June 30, 2017 as amended by notification No. 02/2022 dated February 2, 2022, have been rationalised, and the conditions for availing exemption under S. No. 404 as well as the procedure for disposal of goods imported under the exemption have been simplified. Accordingly, the requirement for certification by DGH is done away with," the circular read.
The government has also created a web page (https://online.dghindia.org/upstreamindia/oil_gasblockdetails/info) to provide the details of the contractors/license/operators for the blocks currently under petroleum operations.
The creation of the webpage will help the assessing officer to verify the details of the importer.
