Hours after a witness's explosive affidavit alleging fabrication and an extortion bid in the cruise liner drug case involving Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, NCB Mumbai's Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede wrote to Mumbai Police Commissioner requesting that no precipitate legal action is carried out to frame him falsely with ulterior motives in relation to alleged vigilance issue in the case.
"It is brought to my notice that some precipitate legal action for framing me falsely is being planned by unknown person in relation to the alleged vigilance related issue in NCB Cr.No.94/2021", the letter stated.

The officer mentioned that Deputy Director General NCB has forwarded the witness's affidavit to the Director General NCB  for further action.

"It is also brought to your notice that threats of jail and dismissal have been issued against the undersigned on public media by highly respectable public functionaries."

Hence it is requested that no such precipitate legal action is carried out to frame the undersigned falsely with ulterior motives," the letter states.

Last week, Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik had made a series of allegations of malpractices against Wankhede and had warned that he will be removed from his job.

The notarized affidavit of witness Prabhakar Sail, which emerged in the social media today morning, stated that he was forced by Wankhede to sign blank papers at the NCB office as a panch witness in the case. Sail further claimed that he overheard KP Gosavi (another independent witness in the case, whose picture with Aryan Khan had gone viral) talking to another regarding plans to extort Rupees 18 crores and to give Rupees 8 crores out of it to Wankhede. He further claimed that he saw Shah Rukh Khan's manager meeting Gosavi, and that he had collected two bags of cash for Gosavi from a location, which had Rupees 38 lakhs.
Later, the NCB Deputy Director General Mumbai said that the affidavit has been forwarded to the NCB Director General for "further necessary action" in view of the vigilance related allegations.
