    Keeping in view the alarming rise in the COVID-19 cases in the NCT of Delhi, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has suspended its functioning from 17th May, 2021 to 21st May, 2021.     Keeping in view the alarming rise in the COVID-19 cases in the NCT of Delhi, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has suspended its functioning from 17th May, 2021 to 21st May, 2021.

    During this period, Benches so nominated by the NCDRC President on day-to-day basis will hear extremely urgent matters through video conferencing.

    Counsel/Parties may approach the Joint Registrar, NCDRC through e-mail at jr.ncdrc@gov.in, for getting their matters listed in case extreme urgency is involved. They shall be required to specifically mention the grounds of urgency in the said e-mail.

    The rest of the matters that were listed during this period will now be listed by the Registry, after giving advance notice of two weeks.

    The parameters set out for listing the extreme urgent matters may be as under:

    • Matters in which parties have prayed for stay of the proceedings before the State Commission/District Forum;
    • Appeal Executions filed afresh in which stay is required by the parties;
    • Applications seeking stay of the Bailable, Non-bailable Warrants, issued by the Fora below;
    • Applications seeking stay of orders passed by the Fora below attaching the property;
    • Matters in which the Supreme Court/ High Court directs to list a matter on a particular day, or, decide a matter during a specific period;
    • Application seeking withdrawal of Consumer Complaints, First Appeals, Revision Petitions and any other applications etc.;
    • Applications seeking extension of time for making deposits pursuant to the orders passed on the earlier dates.

    The below mentioned matters will not be considered as extreme urgent matters:

    All the matters listed for admission hearing in which stay of the order passed by the State Commission or the District Forum is not sought;

    • All the final hearing matters;
    • Execution Application filed by the parties in a Consumer complaint decided by the NCDRC;
    • Applications listed for directions;
    • The application seeking to take on record additional documents, etc.;
    • Application seeking condonation of delay in filing the written synopsis;
    • Application for impleadment of parties;
    • Applications seeking review;
    • Application for restoration.
