NCLT is currently functioning at its 50% strength owing to the retirement of 15 members in July, 2022 as the Government did not extend the tenure of these members.

Earlier, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs vide its advertisement dated 12.07.2022 also invited applications for filing the vacancy of 8 judicial and 11 technical members but the procedure for appointment of these members will take at least another two months to complete.
