    Following massive criticism over 'onerous' technical requirements imposed by NLSIU for candidates appearing for NLAT 2020, the University has notified a list of test centres across 14 states in India.

    NLSIU has intimated that candidates can now take the NLAT 2020 at centres across India managed by Testpan India Pvt. Ltd.— a national centre-based testing company, at a minimal cost of Rs. 350.

    Presently, these centres have been established at the following 14 cities:

    • Aurangabad, Maharashtra
    • Bhubhaneshwar, Odisha
    • Bikaner, Rajasthan
    • Chennai, Tamil Nadu
    • Dehradun, Uttarakhand
    • Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh
    • Guwahati, Assam
    • Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh
    • Jaipur, Rajasthan
    • Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh
    • Nashik, Maharashtra
    • Rohtak, Haryana
    • Shimla, Himachal Pradesh
    • Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir

    These centres will strictly observe all the necessary COVID health and safety protocols. Further, each centre will have limited availability.

    However, NLSIU shall not be responsible for technical problems, internet outages or any other issues that may arise at Testpan centres. The arrangement is a private agreement between Testpan and the candidate and NLSIU does not bear any liability in relation to the same.

    Inter alia, the University has clarified that if a candidate wishes to appear for the exam from an "alternative venue", he/ she may do so.

    "It is not necessary that you take the NLAT 2020 exclusively from your home or the address you have provided in your Application Form – you can appear for the NLAT 2020 from any location that meets the requirements published," the University said.

    Mock Tests for NLAT 2020 will be available from 9 AM, September 9, 2020, until 12 AM (midnight), September 12, 2020. Candidates can attempt the Mock Test as many times as they want. Details to access the Mock Tests will be shared with all the registered candidates.
