As a pilot initiative, the Bar Council is scheduled to commence a lecture series lasting for 35 minutes, starting from July 4 till July 15 (excluding Sundays). These lectures will be conducted by senior advocates or experienced practitioners.

The lecture will be delivered on the following topics:

    • Court-craft and Court etiquettes,
    • Drafting, Pleadings & Filing with Registry,
    • Litigation simplified,
    • Basics of any one specific area of legal practice.

“Seniors in the profession have the right experience and expertise, and with their help and guidance a more competent second line of lawyers can be groomed. The Council feels that such an exercise would deeply benefit lawyers who earnestly seek such mentorship,” the Bar Council Chairman Suvir Sidhu said in a letter to the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association and the High Court Senior Advocates Bar Association.

The Council has urged the High Court Bar associations to assist it in requesting the senior advocates or seniors in practice to volunteer for training young lawyers at the Law Auditorium in Chandigarh.
