In an effort aimed at engaging and inspiring young minds to critically examine our Constitution, #ReclaimConstitution, under the aegis of the International Institute for Art, Culture & Democracy (IIACD Foundation), launched a nationwide quiz competition for students of grades 8 to 12 on 22 July 2025. The initiative aims to bring the Indian Constitution alive for young minds - not just as a document, but as a living, breathing promise.
The online preliminary round of the quiz was held on 26 November 2025, with over 1500 students forming 500 teams from more than 200 schools. Participants joined from 20 States and 5 Union Territories, making it a truly national celebration of constitutional learning.
As per the format, the top team from each of the six zones North, South, East, West, North East plus Andamans, Nicobar and Lakshadweep was to qualify for the finals. With no participation from the Central Zone, the best second placed team across all zones was considered. Twenty four teams tied for that spot, leading to a tie breaker round to determine the finalist.
We are pleased to announce the six finalist teams:
- Kajal, Himakhi, Bandita – Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Guwahati
- Yugal, Harsh, Piyush – Jyoti Public School, Lali, Haryana
- Rishit, Arjun, Gautam – Sudarshan Vidya Mandir, Bangalore
- Riya, Shailja, Dayita – Carmel School (Steel), Durgapur
- Tanmay, Priyanshu, Vibhor – Shri Ram Centennial School, Patna
- Ankita, Joslyn, Violet – Carmel Higher Secondary School, Nuvem, Goa
The Grand Finale will be held at Sabha Blr in Bengaluru on 26 January 2026.
The winners of the quiz get an all expenses paid trip, along with one parent, to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi and other historic places in Delhi.
The quizmaster is Berty Ashley, Quizzer & Molecular Geneticist. He is known for his humour-filled quizzing style and authors the long-running 'Easy Like Sunday Morning' quiz in The Hindu. He has also been a senior content editor for the south Indian version of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
