In wake of the shooting incident which took place inside the Rohini Court complex in New Delhi, the Advocates Association of Bengaluru has written to Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai seeking to provide the required protection to all the Courts in Karnataka and to bring an ordinance enacting "Advocates Protection Act".

In a letter written by the Association President Advocate A P Ranganatha states "This is to bring to your kind notice that the last week incident occurred at Rohini Court complex New Delhi is literally attack on Judiciary. Such incidents apart creating fear psychosis among the people approaching the court of law, it also demean the trust of people on Judiciary."

It adds "Ghastly shootout incident of Rohini Court dated 24.09.2021 is evident of freelance activities of antisocial elements in judiciary/ court. The gunshot at court complex is a very unfortunate and serious issue."

The letter makes a request to the Chief Minister to bring an ordinance to enact Advocates Protection Act at the earliest and give adequate security to all the courts across the State.
