    The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the elevation of Advocates Mahendra Goyal and Farzand Ali as judges of the Rajasthan High Court.

    "On the basis of interaction, material on record and having regard to all relevant factors, the Collegium is of the considered view that S/Shri (1) Mahendra Goyal and (2) Farzand Ali, Advocates (mentioned at Sl. Nos.1 and 3 above) are suitable for being appointed as Judges of the Rajasthan High Court.", said the resolution passed by the Collegium comprising CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justices S A Bobde and N V Ramana

    These two names were recommended  by the High Court Collegium in May last year, along with the names of seven other advocates.

    Of these names, the proposal to elevate advocate Manish Shishodia as a High Court judge has been deferred for the present.

    The remaining five proposed names i.e. those of advocates Anurag Sharma, Ashvin Garg, Rajeev Purohit, Sachin Acharya, Sanjay Jhanwar and Anita Aggarwal have been remitted by the Supreme Court Collegium back to the High Court.
