Sippy Sidhu Murder Case: Daughter Of Himachal Pradesh High Court's Acting Chief Justice Arrested By CBI

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the daughter of Himachal Pradesh High Court Acting Chief Justice Sabina, Kalyani Singh in connection with the 2015 Sippy Sidhu murder case. She has been sent to 4 days of judicial custody.

A murder case in connection with the murder of Sukhmanpreet Singh Sidhu, alias Sippy Sidhu, a national-level shooter, and lawyer who was shot dead in 2015, was registered at CBI, in April 2016.

The probe in the matter was transferred to CBI in compliance with an order of Home Secretary UT Administration Chandigarh in the year 2016. Sippy was allegedly shot dead by unknown assailants at around 09:00-10:00 PM on the night of 20.09.2015 in Sector 27 park at Chandigarh.

Now, the CBI today filed an application seeking police custody remand of Kalyani Singh before the Special Judge Sukhdev Singh. In its application, the CBI has satated that on completion of the investigation, CBI has filed final report u/s 173 Cr. P.C in 2020 and now, they prayed to allow CBI to continue further investigation w.r.t the role of suspect Kalyani Singh & others.
