Whether Advocate Sticker Is Legally Authorized & Why Not Court Bans Sticker As It Is Being Used For Criminal Activities? Asks Madras HC

The Madras High Court recently asked the respondents (the list is given below) to answer as to whether the Advocate sticker is legally authorized and whether it has got legal sanction?The Bench of Justice N. Kirubakaran and Justice B. Pugalendhi further asked the respondents to answer as to why not the "Court bans the Advocate sticker as it is being used for criminal activities by sticking it in the vehicles in order to intimidate the Police and escape from the clutches of law."The matter before the CourtIt was alleged by the Counsel for the petitioner before the Court that the students, who are studying in the Law Colleges, are using Advocate stickers by sticking them in their vehicles in order to escape from the police.Moreover, it was stated that many instances have been reported in the newspapers, in which, goondas have misused the Advocate stickers while carrying the contrabands as well as for criminal activities.To this, the Court suo-moto impleaded following parties as respondents:-(i) Thre Home Secretary, Tamil Nadu Government, Tamil Nadu Secretariat, Chennai,(ii) The Director-General of Police, Tamil Nadu Police, Beach Road, Chennai,(iii) The Chairman, Bar Council of India, New Delhi,(iv) The Chairman, Tamil Nadu Bar Council, High Court Campus, Chennai,(v) The Chairman, JAAC Committee, No.6, Hosur Road, Opposite to Police Commissioner Office, Coimbatore 18,(vi) The Chairman, Mr. S.K.Vel, Tamilnadu, Pondicherry, Advocate Federation, Office at Namakal Bar Advocate Association, Tamil Nadu,(vii) The President/Secretary, Madras High Court Campus, Advocate Association, MBA, Chennai,(viii) The President/Secretary, Madras High Court Advocate Association, MHAA, Madras High Court Campus, Chennai,(ix) The President/Secretary, Women Advocate Association, Madras High Court Advocate Association, Madras High Court Campus, Chennai,(x) The President/Secretary, Madurai Bar Association (MBA), Madras High Court of Madurai Bench, Madurai Bench Campus, Madurai,(xi) The President/Secretary, Madurai Bar Association (MBHAA), Madras High Court of Madurai Bench, Madurai Bench Campus, Madurai,(xii) The President/Secretary, Madurai Bar Association (MMBA), Madras High Court of Madurai Bench, Madurai Bench Campus, Madurai,(xiii) The President/Secretary, Women Advocate Association, Madras High Court of Madurai Bench, Madurai Bench Campus, Madurai,(xiv) The President/Secretary, Madurai Bar Association (MAHAA), Madras High Court of Madurai Bench, Madurai Bench Campus, Madurai and(xv) The President/Secretary, Madurai District Court (MBA), Madurai District Court Campus, Madurai as respondents to this writ petition.Case title- V.
