  • NLSIU, Bengaluru signs MoU with NLU, Assam for strengthening efforts of Centre for Child Rights

    The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru recently signed a MoU with the National Law University – Assam (NLU – A) on 16th October 2015 for fostering Academic Collaboration between the two institutions.

    This MoU facilitates the Centre for Child and the Law (CCL), NLSIU which is currently headed by Prof. (Dr.) V. S. Elizabeth, to   operationalize its mission of ensuring a culture of respect for the rights of children in the country, by enabling the establishment of or strengthening existing Research Centre’s on Child Rights in other Universities, which is also supported by The “TATA TRUSTS.”

    Through this MoU, CCL NLSIU will strengthen the efforts of the Centre for Child Rights (CCR) established at the National Law University – Assam in March 2015 with the support of UNICEF – Assam Field office, so as to help children in the State of Assam and North East Region attain a better quality of life and realize their rights fully.

    Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar – Vice Chancellor – NLU-A and Prof. (Dr.) R. Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor – NLSIU signed the MoU. Prof. (Dr.) V.P. Tiwari, Faculty and Head of the Centre for Child Rights (CCR) at NLU – Assam (extreme right); and Arlene Manoharan and Dr. Niranjanaradhya V.P. from the Centre for Child and the Law (CCL), NLSIU were also present at the occasion.
