  • NUJS theatre productions brings out its first Hindi play Gadau Gadar
    In the aftermath of the recent political upheaval in UP, the NUJS theatre team presents its first Hindi play गँड़ऊ ग़दर (Gadau Gadar), an adaptation of Kashinath Singh’s famed work ‘Kashi ka Assi’. Set at the turn of millennium in the year 1999, the play is a humorous take on the socio-political realities of India’s 'Cultural Capital' Banaras and some of its indomitable inhabitants- whose idea of democracy revolves around the Gadau Gadar, where they come together every day over tea and talk politics.

    Cast: Archit Krishna as Kashinath Singh, Jalaj Pandey as Kamal Kumar, Atul Jha as Pandit, Binish Kumar as Brahmanand Sahodar, Tanmai Shukla as Ashok Tiwari, Ananya Kumar as Rtd. Prof. Gaya Singh, Samarth Shandilya as Jeans, Shobhit Shukla as Comrade Chitranjan, Ateesh Nandi as Ramvachan Pandey, Abhinav Kumar as Radhe Shyam Pandey, Gaurav Kumar Gupta as Advocate Virendra Srivastava, Carmel Sharma as Katherine Sharma, Devvrat Singh as Chaiwala.

    Special Appearance: Issac John, Aditya Kumar, Apoorv Bansal, Vardhit Singhania, Shivam Sharma, Jai Sharma, Kathik Upreet and Anant Pratap Singh.
