    University College of Law, Osmania University, Hyderabad is going to organize a National Seminar on "Law relating to Tribes in India - An Audit of Legal, Constitutional and Policy Perspectives" on 12th - 13th December, 2015.

    Venue: Dr. Marri Channa Reddy, Human Resource Development Institute, Road No. 25, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad

    Aim of the Seminar: The main aim of the seminar is to analyze legal, constitutional and policy perspectives relating to tribes for the purpose of securing social, economic and political justice to tribes.

    Objectives of the seminar:



    • To study different Laws relating to Tribes in India
    • To examine the Implementation of the various Laws relating to Tribes
    • To analyse the policies of the Union and State Governments relating to upliftment of Tribes
    • To evaluate various welfare programmes which are implemented for the upliftment of Tribes
    • To suggest ways and means for making these tribal laws and welfare programme’s effective in establishing a just society for Tribals
    • To highlight the contribution of judiciary in protection of the rights of Tribes

     The main theme of the seminar is "Law relating to Tribes in India - An Audit of Legal, Constitutional and Policy Perspectives".

    • Tribal rights under the Constitution and Other Laws
    • Educational Rights of Scheduled Tribes
    • Status of Tribal Women and Children
    • Health Problems of Tribes in Scheduled areas and Environmental Issues
    • Administration of Justice in Scheduled areas
    • Traditional Knowledge and Traditional Cultural Expressions of Tribes
    • Economic and Welfare Programme’s for Scheduled Tribes
    • Socio economic conditions of Tribes in Telangana State
    • Impact of Globalization on Tribal people


    This list is only illustrative in nature. The participants may choose to present their papers on any of the topics related to the main theme.
