Minutes after the Supreme Court dismissed petitions seeking an independent probe into Judge Loya's death, the website of the Apex Court crashed, with allegations of it being hacked surfacing.

Several people have since posted images with the SC website saying "hackeado por HighTech Brazil HackTeam". The most recent screenshots, however, suggest that the website has crashed now, with the message "this site can't be reached" being displayed.

The suspicions are troubling, especially in light of the fact that India's Defence Ministry website was hacked just a few days back, after which the Home and Law Ministry websites were also down. Several reports had then claimed that the website was hacked by Chinese hackers as it showed a Chinese character which translates to ‘Zen’.

Following this, National Informatics Centre, which maintains all government websites, has been asked to conduct an inquiry into the incident.
