Ashoka University professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad, who was arrested by the Haryana Police over a Facebook post on 'Operation Sindoor', has approached the Supreme Court for relief.

Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal mentioned the petition before Chief Justice of India BR Gavai today for urgent listing.

"Mylords, a professor at Ashoka University  has been proceeded against for an entirely patriotic statement on Operation Sindoor ,mylords may list it immediately," Sibal requested.

CJI Gavai agreed to list the matter tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Yesterday, the Magistrate remanded the Professor to police custody for two days.
