    Amidst repeated instances of wrong-doings in the Supreme Court Registry, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi came down heavily on the Registrar (Listing) on Monday over the deletion of a matter against specific directions.

    In the morning, an Advocate pointed out that her matter which had been listed for Tuesday after being 'mentioned' on Friday happens to have been omitted from the causelist.

    "What is going on? She had made a mention last week and we had ordered the matter to not be deleted? What do you not understand when orders are passed? What is the (Registry) staff up to?", demanded the Chief Justice.

    When the Registrar sought time to look into the issue, Chief Justice Gogoi reprimanded him further, "We give you time and you come back after 2 hours with some cooked-up story...that this happened or that happened"

    It was observed that a couple of additional cases in the cause-list would not be a problem and that matter ought not to be deleted.

    Chief Justice Gogoi, in his administrative capacity as head of the judiciary, has taken note of allegations of listing of cases out of turn before various benches of the apex court, an official said, on the condition of anonymity.

    Last week, the Court took a decision to appoint senior superintendents of police and superintendents of police from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Delhi Police, the official said
