Justice (Retired) Dinesh Maheshwari, former Judge of the Supreme Court, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the 23rd Law Commission of India.Advocate Hitesh Jain and Professor DP Verma(Law Faculty, BHU) are the other members of the Commission. Justice (Retired) Dinesh Maheshwari, former Judge of the Supreme Court, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the 23rd Law Commission of India.

The 22nd Law Commission was headed by Justice (Retd) Ritu Raj Awasthi, former Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court and had former Kerala High Court judge Justice KT Sankaran,Prof. Anand Paliwal, Prof. DP Verma, Prof.(Dr) Raka Arya and Shri M. Karunanithi as members of the Commission.
