    The Full Court of Guahati High Court has deliberated and resolved regarding services to be rendered to CJI Ranjan Gogoi, post his retirement.

    After his retirement on November 17, Justice Gogoi plans to reside in Guahati. He has old ties with Guahati as he started his practice as an Advocate from there in 1978 and was first appointed as permanent judge in the Gauhati High Court in 2001.

    In order to come to a consensus upon the post-retirement services to be provided, the Full Court conducted a Meeting of the Protocol Committee on Wednesday and resolved to provide the following facilities:

    1. A dedicated Private Secretary to look after the day to day requirements of CJI and to coordinate with the Registry for any protocol related requirements;
    2. A Grade-IV Peon and a Bunglow Peon to serve his residence;
    3. A chauffer driven vehicle belonging to the High Court on fuel basis, as and when required; and
    4. A Nodal Officer, to be identified by the Registry, so as to coordinate with the Private Secretary.

    In addition to the above, Justice Gogoi will be eligible for the post retirement pension and medical facilities, as prescribed under the Supreme Court Judges (Salaries And Conditions Of Service) Act, 1958.

    He will be succeeded by Justice SA Bobde, whose name was officially recommended to the Union Law Minister last month.
