Sibal : No investigator with a sense of justice will discard this evidence. No judge with a conscience will discard this evidence.

    • 10 Nov 2021 10:07 AM GMT

Sibal : What happens in many of these national tragedies is that the culprit is somebody else and the victim is somebody else. I can't target the present day population for what happened in 1947. Who should innocent persons suffer?

    • 10 Nov 2021 10:01 AM GMT

Sibal : These are the questions which SIT should have asked.

Sibal : 55 people were released on bail when Dilip Trivedi was appointed as Special Public Prosecutor. Kindly note this. Should this matter be not investigated? Why did you not oppose? Did VHP or any accused get in touch with you?

    • 10 Nov 2021 10:01 AM GMT

Sibal : First you have VHP people calling for riots, and then you appoint VHP people as prosecutors.

Sibal mentions a VHP person appointed as Special Prosecutor not opposing bail to accused. "Just look at what is happening!".

Sibal says that an officer in Bhavnagar had acted on intelligence report to save children in Madrassas. This shows that proper preventive action by police elsewhere could have prevented violence.

Sibal : It is the SIT which should have analyzed all this. But we had to discharge the job. And we even handed over it to the SIT. And see the attitude. We have given them in questions form. Then also they don't do.

    • 10 Nov 2021 9:49 AM GMT

Sibal : There is also this delay in calling the Army. The first time Army was asked for was on 01.03.2002, and the army reached in Godhra on 02.03.2002.
