Rohatgi: [Report says] that the bodies were not taken to the street of Ahmedabad and did not pass densely populated parts.

Rohatgi: The Commission [Nanavati] report is replete with paragraphs that support the version of SIT.

Rohatgi: Riots commenced when late Ehsan Jafri shot 8 rounds from his gun, that was the finding.

Rohatgi: The State administration was overrun by the mobs. The Bandh was going on in the morning, so the riots had not commenced because of the bandh. That is the finding of the trial court in Gulberg.

Rohatgi: The Trial court in Gulberg held that there was no riot until 1pm in the afternoon.

Rohatgi: This meeting was held, a decision was taken to send a wireless to make everyone alert. By 2pm army was called in. Right when riots commenced these things are happening. The riots did not commence in morning, it commenced in noon and after.

Rohatgi : Kindly see some samples of what the commission (Nanavati) said. This is the second meeting of 28.02.2002. This is a prelude to show that the allegation of conspiracy is demolished by this.

Mr. Rohatgi: It could be a case of dereliction of duty, maybe they were not smart enough, not proactive enough. But, not a deliberate meeting of mind with regard to a conspiracy.
