    LiveLaw Academy has announced a new 21-week live course, "Comprehensive Course on Constitution of India," designed to help lawyers, students, policy professionals, and citizens at large build a structured, working understanding of India's Constitution.     The course begins on 5 September 2026 and will run through 6 February 2027, with live weekly sessions every Saturday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It spans 21 weeks (20 teaching weeks plus a dedicated review week) for a total of 40 teaching hours and 2 review hours.

    Course Structure

    The syllabus is built to take participants from constitutional fundamentals through to advanced concepts, covering:

    The architecture, history and salient features of the Constitution

    Parliament, the Union Executive, the Supreme Court, State Legislatures, Governors, High Courts and local bodies

    Centre-State relations across legislative, financial and administrative domains, along with cooperative federalism

    Constitutional governance topics including emergency provisions, elections, citizenship and official language

    Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, Fundamental Duties, Constitutional Remedies and Constitutional Amendments

    Each session combines lecture, discussion and case study, with readings of constitutional provisions and relevant judicial precedents built into the teaching. Participants will also have the opportunity to make case presentations over the course of the programme.

    The course is designed to be accessible without requiring a legal background, and is aimed at students from any academic stream, political scientists, young litigators, journalists, policy professionals, political workers, civil services aspirants, and any citizen seeking a structured understanding of the Constitution.

    About The Faculty

    Adv. Avani Bansal is a constitutional lawyer practising before the Supreme Court of India, with experience in constitutional litigation, regulatory strategy and public law. She has argued prominent matters before the Supreme Court, including the Governor's powers in the In Re Presidential Reference case and the challenge to NEET-PG, besides handling matters across service law, election law, writ jurisdiction and property disputes. She has also represented clients in labour disputes, sexual harassment and victim compensation matters before various High Courts and the National Green Tribunal.

    She is the founder of Avani Bansal Chambers and has previously worked with Senior Advocate Harish Salve. A gold medalist during her law degree, she went on to pursue a B.C.L. and M.Phil in Law at the University of Oxford and an LL.M. at Harvard Law School.
