Pegasus- Supreme Court Hearing-Day 2- Live-Updates

Supreme Court adjourns the hearing of Pegasus cases to August 16 after Solicitor General sought time to get instructions.

CJI also observed that there should be no parallel debates about the case by the parties once they have come to the Court.

Sr Adv Shyam Divan makes a grievance about the VC system : The image of the court today is blurred.

CJI (in lighter vein) : Please don't say that, it will be taken wrongly (comment about image being blurred). We are trying to improve the system. More than 300 people connected

CJI : Some statements are taken out of context. I was expressing a doubt if I read the document correctly (referring to doubt expressed about the submission on California court order)

Sibal : Absolutely, and mud was thrown on the man (referring to the controversy over N.Ram

Senior Adv Kapil Sibal mentions about the submissions about the California court.

Sibal : I agree that when a case is going on here there should not be discussion outside.

CJI : If they want to bring anything to the notice of the court, you bring through affidavit. We expect they answer our queries through a proper debate in court hall and not outside.

CJI : You all have come to the court and you speak through the counsels. We don't want parallel debates. You have faith in the system. There must be discipline.

CJI : This is the message of me and my two brothers. All petitioners are expected to answer the queries of the court through the debate in the court. If they want to say something through Twitter, social media etc, it is for them.

CJI says he wants to say something to the lawyers. But his voice breaks.

CJI Ramana : On Friday, I have some persona inconvenience. Will take up on Monday.

CU Singh : Let notice be issued.

CJI : We will see on Monday.
