    The Punjab and Haryana High Court in a special hearing conducted today evening, granted interim bail till Monday to Times Now reporter Bhawana Kishore who was arrested by Punjab Police on Friday for allegedly knocking down a Dalit woman with her car and verbally abusing her.

    The bench of Justice Augustine George Masih granted her interim bail in a plea moved by Kishore seeking the quashing of the FIR lodged against her under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The Court will now hear her plea for regular bail on Monday.

    She has also been booked under Sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (hurting any person by acting rashly or negligently as to endanger human life) and 427 (commits mischief and thereby causes loss or damage) of the Indian Penal Code,

    As per the case of Punjab Police, the alleged incident occurred when the victim woman was on her way to attend the inauguration of an Aam Aadmi Clinic (Mohalla clinic) in Ludhiana which was being attended by the chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal as well as Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

    She was arrested by Punjab Police along with two others (her colleague Mrityunjay Kumar and her driver Parminder Singh). All three of them were sent to 14-day Judicial custody.
