A fresh Office Order of the Supreme Court released on Sunday dictates that all officers in the ranks of Deputy Registrar and above, or their equivalent shall attend office from Monday May, 4 2020.

In furtherance of precautions and requisite guidelines of social distancing, the order lays down that the remaining staff shall continue to work from home unless otherwise urgent.

"The remaining staff shall continue to work from home on such terms and conditions as notified earlier, by the orders under reference, however concerned Registrar(s) may direct any other subordinate officer/staff to attend office to meet any urgent requirement(s) and, on such direction, such officer and/or staff shall report for duty at office on the date and time so directed" - Secratery General, SC

The order comes in partial modification of Officer Orders released earlier on March 22, 27 & April 27, which had set out working of the top court staff during lockdown.

Further to this, the order also highlights that all officers and staff must follow all  precautions against COVID19, issued by the Government while commuting to and fro from office and also while at work.

"all officers and staff, while commuting to and from office and also while at work, shall strictly follow all precautions as per advisory/guidelines issued by the Government, and also as directed by the Registry, from time to time towards preventing the spread of the Covid-19 infection, like practicing social-distancing, undergoing thermal-screening, submitting self-declaration forms, wearing face masks etc"
