    The Chairman of the Bar Council of India Senior Advocate Manan Kumar Mishra has written a letter addressed to the Chief Justice of India U. U. Lalit beseeching him and the other judges of the Supreme Court Collegium to consider the elevation of Judges of those High Courts who are unrepresented in the Supreme Court.

    In the letter to the CJI he stated that, "Some bigger States having vast population of the country are unrepresented in the Supreme Court for the last several months." He asked the CJI to take into account this important aspect of the matter in course of the meeting of the Collegium.
    In the letter he also pointed out that the Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju also appeared to be "very positive and practical on this issue", when the matter was discussed with him.
