Kaul: On 29th June, Mr Prabhu files a WP before the SC seeking a stay on floor test on the ground that disqualification of 42 MLAs was pending consideration. 

Kaul: On 28th June, governor issues a communication to Mr Thackeray directing him to face a floor test on 30th June 2022. It specifically refers to three things- 7 MLAs, withdrawing support, letter of leader of opposition, and resolution by 34

Kaul: On 28th, leader of opposition, Mr Fadnavis went to the governor and requested for a floor test.

Kaul: On 27th June, disqualification proceedings are moved against 22 MLAs. No notice was received by any of people against whom disqualification was alleged.

Kaul: After hearing the arguments, court gave time till 12th. We had also raised as justification the fact that there was a threat to our lives, homes were being burnt, it was not safe for us. So we weren't in state.

Kaul: In this background, on 27th June, we come to this court to say that there has been a serious violation of principles of natural justice as instead of 7 days, we got weekend to reply and we need more time to file a reply.

Kaul: On 25th, even the Thackeray faction writes to the ECI. The minority faction writes to the ECI to say that there is a rival faction which may start a party, we are the real shivsena- they invoke the jurisdiction of ECI.

Kaul: On 25th June 2022, disqualification notifications are issued to the 16 MLAs by deputy speaker, asking them to file reply. 26th and 27th is weekend so these two non working days are given to file reply.

Kaul: On 23rd June, the first disqualification petition is filed by Mr Prabhu before the deputy speaker against 16 MLAs on the ground that they voluntarily gave their membership by not attending the meeting.

Kaul: On the same day, majority faction writes saying that Mr Prabhu had no authority to call for the meeting and therefore the notice is invalid.
