The prize is instituted in memory of Reema Ray (1982-2013), who was a brilliant young corporate lawyer in one of the leading law firms in India. Her friends, family and colleagues remember her as a rare person with exceptional qualities of heart and mind. She passed away on 6 September 2013, aged 31 yrs.

The Essay Competition is instituted by Verus, several of whose partners were close friends of Reema and continue to cherish fond memories of her

 Prize: The best essay will be awarded a prize of INR 100,000.

Eligibility: An international essay competition open to all undergraduate law students, scholars (completed bachelors in law & pursuing academia) and young practitioners/ in-house counsels (under 35 yrs of age) from around the world.

Topic: "India's New Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code - Lessons and Insights From Foreign Jurisdictions."

Deadline: 15 November 2017

Requirements: Original, unpublished work, written in English, not exceeding 5000 words.

 How to Submit?

Submissions (or enquiries) to be emailed to Mr. Krishnayan Sen, Partner, Verus at [email protected] as an attached MS Word file on or before 15 November 2017 with a statement affirming the author’s eligibility for the competition and confirmation that the work is original and unpublished.
