West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has invited applications for West Bengal Judicial Service Examination, 2014. The exam will be conducted in accordance with the existing rules for recruitment to the posts in West Bengal Judicial Service.
Last date for receipt of application: March 31, 2014.
No of Posts- Existing – 39 & Anticipated – 25 = 64 [Unreserved – 42, SC – 06, ST – 03, BC Category A – 06, BC Category B – 05, PWD – 02].
Qualification: The following qualifications are necessitated:
(i) A citizen of India or such a person of other nationality as declared eligible by Government of India;
(ii) A degree in Law from any University or Institution affiliated to any University recognized by the State Government or the Central Government;
(iii) Enrolment as an advocate in the roll of Bar Council of any State or Union Territory in India on the date of advertisement for the examination;
(iv) Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates of the three Hill Sub-divisions of Darjeeling District, viz., Darjeeling Sadar, Kalimpong and Kurseong ).
Age Limit: Not less than 23 years and not more than 35 years on the date of advertisement for the examination on 01.03.2014 (i.e. born not earlier than 02.03.1979 and not later than 01.03.1991).
Fee : Candidates must enclose with their application a fee of Rs.210/- (Rupees Two Hundred Ten) only in the form of Indian Postal Order which must be purchased on a date after publication of this advertisement and crossed and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal or in the form of a receipted Challan from a Government Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC-Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16-other fees”. Money Orders, Cheques, Bank Drafts, Cash etc. will not be accepted.
