Counsel mentions before #SupremeCourt matter pertaining to vacancies in Tribunals; application filed with respect to DRAT member whose term is expiring soon

AG Venktaramani: Now that everything is set in motion...IAs may not be entertained any longer. A month or two should not make a difference.

CJI Kant: Can you take a decision at your end that you will increase ad hoc arrangement for a month or so?

AG: We will look into it. But I suggest this matter should not come to a close

CJI: You need to give us a definite [submission] that posts will be filled. The moment we dispose of these petitions, and fresh appointment is not made, another round will start

AG: Tribunal Reforms Act provides for everything. No order be passed

CJI: We don't want tribunals to become defunct. Current arrangement may continue on ad-hoc

AG: Kindly take up tomorrow, I will find out
