    The Principal Bench of National Green Tribunal has directed Ghaziabad Development Authority and UP State Pollution Control Board (PCB) to furnish a factual and action taken report in a month, on whether Presidium School and Indirapuram Habitat Centre, are using diesel generator sets, creating air and noise pollution in the area.

    Principal Bench headed by Chairperson Adarsh Kumar Goel, gave the direction on a complaint made by former Allahabad High Court, Justice A K Roopanwal. It is alleged by him that Presidium School and Indirapuram Habitat Centre, are using diesel generator sets creating air and noise pollution, in violation of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.

    The bench said State PCB, will be the nodal agency for compliance and coordination and will have to email its report in a month's time to the Tribunal. It also said Justice Roopanwal may also furnish set of papers to Ghaziabad Development Authority and U.P. State PCB.

    The complaint alleges that Air pollution is also affecting the students of the Presidium School and inhabitants of the area. Diesel is being stored in painting drums in open which life is threatening. The tribunal will further hear the plea on October 22.
