The Principal Bench of National Green Tribunal has directed the Madhya Pradesh State Pollution Control Board to continue remedial actions to ensure that a stone crushing unit next to a government school does not cause air pollution and noise pollution.
Acting on a complaint filed by Rajkumar Kol, Sarpanch, GramPanchayat Bhanpura, the tribunal had called for a report from the authorities. The compliance report stated that a few parts of the plant were not covered by steel sheets and suggesting that this should be done. It has also been observed that damaged part of the unit needs to be repaired.
A bench led by Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel sadi "In view of above, let remedial action be ensured by the SPCB and for violations, environmental compensation may be recovered."
