The LAW Trust Presents Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer Award 2024 To Venkitesh Ramakrishnan [23rd November]

The LAW Trust with the resolve to recognize and honour those who have contributed exceptionally to the welfare of the society, confers them with its prestigious JUSTICE V.R. KRISHNA IYER AWARD, every year. The Award is instituted in the fond memory of the legend of judiciary, Justice V.R.Krishna lyer, as a token of respect to him. The Award consists of a sum of Rs. 50,000/- and a memento engraved with Justice V.R. Krishna lyer's picture and citation. The Trust decided, in one accord, to confer its prestigious Justice V. R. Krishna lyer Award 2023 on Prof. (Dr) N.K. Jayakumar who, in the capacity of being an eminent teacher in law showcased meritorious contribution to a number of reputed universities inside and overseas India spanning over five decades as a master of a dedicated life, inspiring author, legal scholar and jurisprudent advisor. To add to his honour, he extended paradigmatic service as a dynamic vice chancellor as well. The Justice V.R.Krishna lyer Award for 2024 is being conferred on Shri. Venkitesh Ramakrishnan, for his invaluable contribution to the field of Journalism who realistically, promptly, unambiguously and unwaveringly portrayed the political, social, cultural and environmental realities in the most striking fashion. Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala, will give away the Award in the presence of Justice N. Anil Kumar (Lokayukta, Kerala), Justice N. Nagaresh (Judge, High Court of Kerala)In tune with the Award giving ceremony a seminar and paper presentation competition on the topic "Justice V.R. Krishna lyer on Autonomy of Press" is an addition to the event. This provides an opportunity to delve deeper into the legacy and views of Justice V. R.
