The Bombay High Court on Wednesday stayed the special court's order granting bail to dismissed police officer Sachin Waze in the Antilia bomb scare case.

The development comes in an appeal preferred by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

After three judges of the High Court recused themselves from hearing the appeal, the matter was placed before a division bench comprising Justice Girish Kulkarni and Justice Dr Neela Gokhale.

The bench has, for the time being, stayed the special court's bail order and adjourned the hearing to the first week of October.

Waze, a dismissed Mumbai Police officer, is an accused in the Antilia bomb scare and Mansukh Hiran murder case. The NIA had challenged the special court's decision granting him bail.
