    Judicial officer Gurvinder Pal Singh on Wednesday sworn in as an Additional judge of the Delhi High Court, taking the total working strength to 50.

    The swearing-in ceremony was held in the High Court premises.

    Judge Singh's appointment was notified by the Central Government on October 05. The announcement was made by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on X, formerly Twitter.

    “In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, after consultation with Chief Justice of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Gurvinder Pal Singh, Judicial Officer as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court,” the post had said.

    On September 10, the Supreme Court Collegium had approved the proposal for appointment of eight judicial officers as Judges of the Delhi High Court, including judge Singh.

    While seven others were appointed as Delhi High Court judges, Singh's appointment was not notified then.
