'Will Consider Positively': State To Karnataka High Court On Proposal To Hold RSS Route March

The Karnataka government informed the High Court on Friday (November 7) that it shall positively consider the proposal Convenor of RSS Kalaburagi for holding a proposed march (Pathasanchalana) in Chittapur Town.On October 30 the court had asked the Convenor of RSS Kalaburagi Ashok Patil to meet with district authorities on November 5 at the Advocate General's office with respect to holding a proposed march. The court had also asked the senior counsel appearing for the petitioner senior advocate Aruna Shyam as well as Advocate General Shashi Kiran Shetty to be a part of the meeting to guide the modalities. The march was earlier proposed to be held on November 2. Senior advocate Aruna Shyam submitted before Justice MGS Kamal that the meeting on November 5 went very well. "It went very well in the leadership of the learned advocate general. We all participated. The outcome he has to explain, what happens, the decision pursuant to the meeting. The meeting was very good. We have made a representation...," Shyam said. The Advocate General submitted that there were 11 applications, and the authorities will consider all the applications, to grant permission as a one time measure with certain conditions which were discussed in the course of the meeting. "Grant us a week's time, we will grant permission to everybody as a one time measure, not to be seen as a precedent," the AG said. The court thereafter in its order dictated, "heard Learned Advocate General through VC as well as senior counsel appearing for the petitioner. It is submitted that meeting scheduled on 5th November was fruitful and positive. That in furtherance thereof the request made by petitioner proposing 2 dates–November 13 and 16, is being considered in positive, and respondent State will convey the decision in this regard to the petitioner...The Advocate General submits that all the applications including of the petitioner will be considered".The matter is listed on November 13. The meeting conducted on November 5 was the second meeting directed by the court. On October 24 the court had asked the State authorities to hold a peace-committee meeting with the organizers on October 28.
