National Lok Adalat Held At Punjab And Haryana High Court, 388 Cases Settled

A total of 723 cases were listed before the Lok Adalat Benches, out of which 388 cases were successfully disposed of through mutual settlement. The settled matters were predominantly Motor Accident Claim cases, with the total amount awarded in these settlements coming to ₹17,86,77,962.
Justice Sudeepti Sharma disposed of matter of Rs 3,47,13,000 and 64 cases.
The National Lok Adalat is a recurring initiative of NALSA aimed at reducing pendency in courts and encouraging resolution of disputes through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. It offers litigants an accessible, cost-effective, and expeditious platform to settle cases without the need for prolonged litigation.
The High Court Legal Services Committee expressed gratitude to the judges, members of the Bar, parties, and court staff for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth conduct of the Lok Adalat. The Committee also stated that it intends to identify more cases going forward so that a greater number of disputes can be settled through the National Lok Adalat mechanism in future.
