A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed before the Punjab & Haryana High Court seeking CBI probe into a violent incident that occurred at Lovely Professional University (LPU) on Sunday (September 27).

Mentioning was made before the bench of Chief Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra and Justice Rohit Kapoor and the matter has now been kept for hearing tomorrow.

The PIL filed by a student seeks CBI probe into the violence.

Reportedly, the protests, started over an unverified social media claim about the alleged rape and suicide of a student at LPU in Punjab's Phagwara, turned into a day of vandalism and blockade of a national highway.
