    The Punjab & Haryana High Court today directed the Chandigarh UT administration to search for an alternate space for the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) as the present building is undergoing repair work due to water seepage.

    Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Sanjiv Berry said,  “Counsel for the Union of India Shri Jain informs that they will take about 30 days to carry out the repairs. The UT administration council is directed to search for an alternative place for the NCLT Chandigarh bench to function, within the next three days.”

    NCLT Chandigarh today notified that it has been closed until further notice due to heavy water seepage from the roof of the building.

    ASG Satya Pal Jain appearing for the Centre submitted that, Union Government has written to the NCLT saying 30 days time will be required to complete the repair work. “We cannot repair the building while the Tribunal is functioning," the ASG added.

    The Court was hearing a PIL filed by Company Law Tribunal Bar Association through its Secretary Vaibhav Sahni, highlighting the deteriorating condition of the NCLT building and water logging issue.
