The Rajasthan High Court has directed the appointment of Administrative Member in the State Civil Services Appellate Tribunal at Jodhpur (the “Tribunal”) on or before November 30, 2026, failing which, the Chief Secretary, Department of Personnel, has been ordered to remain present before the Court on next date of hearing.

The division bench of Justice Vinit Kumar Mathur and Justice Chandra Shekhar Sharma took into account the fact that multiple orders were passed by the Court in the past, despite which no appointment was made till date.

The counsel submitted that the service matters which were pending before the Tribunal were getting piled up since the Tribunal was virtually non-functional, in the absence of such Administrative Members.

In this background, the Court opined,

“In these circumstances, the respondents are directed to appoint Administrative Member in Rajasthan Civil Services Appellate Tribunal at Jodhpur on or before 30.11.2026 failing which Chief Secretary of Rajasthan/Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Personnel (DoP) shall remain present before this Court on the next date of hearing.”

The matter shall be next heard on December 3.
