Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Appointment Of Two Additional Judges As Permanent Judges Of Telangana High Court

Supreme Court collegium recommends the names of two additional judges as the permanent judges of the Telangana High Court.

On 13 February 2024, the Collegium of the High Court for the State of Telangana unanimously recommended the names of Justice Jaggannagari Sreenivasa Rao @ J. Srinivas Rao, and Justice Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao for appointment as permanent Judges of that High Court.

The Committee comprising of two Judges from the Supreme Court have rated the quality of the judgements passed by the above mentioned judges as 'good.'

"In of the above, the Collegium resolves to recommend that (i) Mr Justice Jaggannagari Sreenivasa Rao @ J. Srinivas Rao, and (ii) Mr Justice Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao, Additional Judges, be appointed as permanent Judges of the High Court for the State of Telangana against the existing vacancies." the notification read.

The Chief Minister and the Governor for the State Telangana have conveyed their concurrence with the recommendation.

Justice Jaggannagari Sreenivasa Rao @ J. Srinivas Rao and Justice Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao.were appointed as an Additional Judges of the High Court August, 2022.
