Essential Qualification and Experience

• The advocate must have at least a bachelor's degree in law from a recognized University in India.
• The advocate must be enrolled / registered as an advocate with Bar Council of India / State Bar Council and must be in active practice at Bar.
• The applicant should have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience for Hon'ble High Courts in Tamilnadu and the Hon'ble CAT at Chennai bench. However, for district level Courts and other forums, the applicant should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience. The Applicants should have the regular practice and standing in the Bar and handled cases before the courts, preferably labour law related cases, with necessary supporting documents / judgments.
• The advocates applying for empanelment in various courts are required to be well versed in the Code on Social Security, 2020 (ESI Act, 1948 (since repealed)), general understanding of various Acts subsumed in the current Social Security Code, 2020, labour law, Civil and Criminal procedure, and other relevant Acts, Codes, etc., wherever applicable.
• The applicants should have sound professional reputation, good communication skills and adequate office infrastructure at the city/town where the court is located such as accessible office/chamber, staff and communication facilities.
• The advocates are required to have office at the place where empanelment is sought so as to ensure their availability for conducting cases on their own.
