Essential Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or Business Administration. Prior audit or assurance background will be preferred.
- 5–7 years of experience in regulatory compliance / legal advisory roles in BFSI, preferably in credit cards, payments, or retail banking.
- Strong understanding of RBI guidelines, consumer protection, outsourcing guidelines, and data privacy regulations.
- Experience handling regulatory audits, compliance monitoring, and risk mitigation frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to interpret and apply complex regulations to real-world scenarios.
- Familiarity with digital on-boarding and co-branded card arrangements is an advantage.
- Proficient in working on MS Office tools.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor, interpret, and implement applicable regulatory guidelines from RBI and other authorities relevant to the credit card business.
- Ensure compliance with RBI Master Directions on Credit and Debit Cards, fair practices codes, grievance redressal, data privacy and customer data protection.
- Design and update credit card processes, disclosures to be in line with regulatory mandates.
- Conduct periodic risk and compliance assessments for card products, processes, and partners (co-brands, issuers, payment networks).
- Drive internal and external audits, compliance testing, and implement corrective action plans where needed.
- Lead regulatory reporting and submission processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Act as a key point of contact for any regulatory inspections, show-cause notices, or customer grievance escalations from ombudsman/regulator.
- Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure new initiatives get designed with compliance embedded from inception.
