    The High Court of Karnataka has designated 18 advocates as Senior Advocates.     The High Court of Karnataka has designated 18 advocates as Senior Advocates. They are:

    6. T S Amar Kumar

    7. Gurudas Shyamrao Kannur

    This is Karnataka High Court's first instance of application of the procedure laid down by Supreme Court in Indira Jaising's case regarding designation of senior advocates.

    Out of the list, A S Ponnana and Sandesh Chouta are currently Additional Advocate Generals for Karnataka.

    The names of Gurudas Kannur, Arvind Kamath and KN Phanindra were recommended by the HC collegium for elevation as High Court judges. But the SC collegium had remitted the names to the HC for fresh consideration by the present collegium.

    Arun Kumar and Srinivasa Raghavan are graduates from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Arun Kumar is the founding partner of Crestlaw Partners. Prior to that, he was an equity partner at Dua Associates. Srinivas Raghvan heads litigation and dispute resolution team at IndusLaw.

    G Shivadass heads the Bangalore office of Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan. Arvind Kamath currently heads litigation team at ALMT Legal, Bangalore.

    There are three women in the list- Jayna Kothari, Lakshmy Iyengar and S Susheela. Jayna Kothari is the co-founder of Centre for Law and Policy Research.
